About The Position
The Terminal Manager is accountable for terminal operations, personnel management, and customer service within a specified geographic region. The role promotes safe work behaviors, maintains compliance with company and government requirements, leads and develops staff, monitors terminal performance and expenses, builds customer relationships, and ensures maximum asset utilization. The position is located in Caldwell, Idaho, and includes travel of up to 25%.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent business experience in the transportation industry.
- Excellent conflict-resolution skills.
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to influence.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
- Promote and develop safe work behaviors in line with company safety programs and objectives.
- Monitor drivers’ hours of service and maintain compliance with company and government regulations and policies.
- Supervise driver performance to achieve incident-free deliveries.
- Lead, manage, evaluate, and develop staff personnel.
- Forecast terminal performance, evaluate results, and take corrective action to meet expense and financial forecasts.
- Engage local customers regularly to drive growth and enhance relationships.
- Ensure maximum asset utilization.
- Promote effective and timely communication, teamwork, and respect among coworkers.
- Provide constructive guidance to other employees and representatives of third parties.
- Contribute to delivering high-quality products and services to customers.
