About The Position
This posting is for term positions in Grade 6 ELA, Grade 6 Math, Grade 6 ICT, and Grade 8 Social Studies at St Andrew Junior School. Permanent contract teachers, second-year probationary teachers, teachers with recall status, and external applicants are eligible to apply. Applicants applying for multiple positions must rank them in order of preference. The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) is part of Nova Scotia's public education system, established to support student learning, achievement, well-being, and success. The SRCE operates 20 schools with approximately 5,948 students and 375 children in pre-primary programs across four counties in northeastern Nova Scotia. Hired or recalled teachers may need to participate in New Teacher training. All employees must provide a recent Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry check.
Requirements
- Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia
- Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area(s) at the appropriate level for the competition
- Excellent classroom and student management skills
- Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning
- Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies
- Application must include at least three (3) work-related references, one must be your most recent supervisor.
