About The Position

This posting is for a Term Grade 2/3 Integrated Language Arts & Integrated Math teaching position at the E Antigonish Educ Centre-Acade. The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) is part of the public education system in Nova Scotia, established on April 1, 2018. The SRCE's mission is to empower children and youth within safe, equitable, and inclusive environments to embrace a changing world as responsible, contributing, and successful lifelong learners. In the 2024-2025 school year, the SRCE operates 20 schools with approximately 5,948 students and 375 children in pre-primary programs across 14 locations. The SRCE serves the counties of Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, and Richmond in northeastern Nova Scotia. Teachers hired or recalled into new positions may be required to participate in New Teacher training if they have not already done so.

Requirements

Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia.
Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area(s) at the appropriate level for the competition.
Excellent classroom and student management skills.
Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning.
Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies.
Knowledge of inter-disciplinary planning.
Provide at least three (3) work-related references, one of which must be your most recent supervisor.
Provide a current (within the last 6 months), and clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry prior to employment.
