About The Position

This position is for a Grade 6 Integrated Language Arts/Mathematics and Grade 6 Core French teacher at the Richmond Education Centre Acad. The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) was established on April 1, 2018, to deliver the public school program focusing on supporting student learning, achievement, well-being and overall success. The SRCE operates 20 schools with approximately 5,948 students and 375 children in pre-primary programs across the counties of Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness and Richmond. The SRCE's mission is to empower children and youth within safe, equitable and inclusive environments to embrace a changing world as responsible, contributing and successful lifelong learners. Teachers hired or recalled into new positions will be required to participate in New Teacher training if they have not already done so.

Requirements

Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia
Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area at the appropriate level for the competition
Excellent classroom and student management skills
Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning
Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies
High level of proficiency in both written and spoken French (approved through the SRCE French proficiency testing)
Provide at least three (3) work-related references, one must be your most recent supervisor
Provide a current (within the last 6 months), and clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry prior to employment
