About The Position
This posting is for teachers with recall status and external applicants to apply for vacancies for which they are qualified. Teachers with recall status must apply using their Internal Profile to ensure their seniority is recognized. The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) is part of the public education system in Nova Scotia, established on April 1, 2018. SRCE delivers the public school program, focusing on supporting student learning, achievement, well-being, and overall success. With approximately 1,166 employees, SRCE operates 20 schools with approximately 5,948 students and 375 children in pre-primary programs across 14 locations in the northeastern part of Nova Scotia, covering the counties of Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, and Richmond. Hired or recalled teachers will be required to participate in New Teacher training if they have not already done so.
Requirements
- Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia
- Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area at the appropriate level for the competition
- Excellent classroom and student management skills
- Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning
- Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies
- High level of proficiency in both written and spoken French is required (approved through the SRCE French proficiency testing)
- Experience teaching visual arts
