The Susan and Alan Solomont School of Nursing at the University of Massachusetts Lowell seeks a full-time, open-rank tenure-track faculty member with an established research program or a strong research trajectory. Priority research areas include health promotion, the healthcare workforce, and historically excluded and underserved populations; applicants with expertise in other areas are also encouraged to apply. Appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will depend on qualifications. Tenure-track faculty have a base teaching load of four courses per year, with reductions based on research productivity. Generous teaching releases are standard for assistant professors during their first four years. Faculty are also expected to provide service to the School, College, and University commensurate with rank. The School seeks candidates recognized for scholarly productivity, ability to work with diverse populations, and excellent oral and written communication skills. The Solomont School of Nursing enrolls more than 550 students across BS, RN-to-BS, master’s, Doctor of Nursing Practice, and PhD in Nursing programs and has 20 full-time faculty members. The School is part of the Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences, which has 64 faculty members and more than 2,100 students. The College supports interdisciplinary and community-based research, interprofessional education, and collaborations across the University, the five-campus UMass system, and the greater Boston area. The University of Massachusetts Lowell is a diverse public Research 1 university enrolling nearly 17,000 students and conducting more than $120 million in sponsored research annually. This is a benefited position represented by the Massachusetts Society of Professors/MTA/NEA union. The anticipated salary range is $105,000–$175,000, based on rank and qualifications. Initial application review begins November 15 and continues until the position is filled, though the position may close once an adequate number of qualified applications have been received. Applicants should submit a CV, cover letter, teaching statement/philosophy describing prior teaching experience, research statement covering past accomplishments and future plans, and up to three recent research publications uploaded as one file. Names and contact information for three references are required at application; references will be contacted after on-campus visits, and one reference must be or have been a supervisor.
