About The Position

Golden Valley Electric Association is hiring a Temporary Laborer at its coal power plant in Healy, Alaska. This onsite role supports a safe, clean, and orderly work environment at the facility. The position pays $30.32 per hour under the IBEW Collective Bargaining Agreement. Successful applicants must become an IBEW member within 30 days after employment. Employment offers are contingent on clear results from pre-employment, post-offer drug and alcohol screening; background checks may also be conducted on final candidates as necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow safety protocols carefully.
• Proficiency with basic cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Effective communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new cleaning techniques.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Clean the coal power station and shop equipment daily.
• Keep work areas organized and free from potential hazards.
• Promptly clean spills and messes to help prevent accidents and support facility operations.
• Participate in regular major cleaning projects to maintain cleanliness and safety.
