About The Position
The Telephone Operator monitors incoming calls to the hospital through the switchboard, answers and announces all Code calls, monitors alarms, and monitors the hospital’s CCTV and other CCTV systems as required. The PBX Operator also assists the Patient Registration Department with clerical duties as needed. Operators must follow the policies and procedures established by the department and hospital.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work under stress and handle different situations simultaneously.
- Experience working in a hospital environment and flexible hours.
- Experience dealing with the public and providing customer service.
- Discretion when handling confidential information to comply with HIPAA requirements.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Nice To Haves
- Experience answering multiple phone lines or operating a switchboard.
