About The Position

The Telephone Operator (PBX) position is located at Corona Regional Medical Center in Corona, CA. This is a Part Time role within the Subacute department. Reporting to the Manager of Access Services, this position operates the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls. The operator also oversees all hospital alarms and responds efficiently when they signal or sound off. They handle emergency response matters for Security or Disaster situations and are responsible for assisting patients and visitors at the information counter. Additionally, the role involves discharging and transferring patients from the computer system. Corona Regional Medical Center has a tradition of caring that began in 1965 with the founding of Corona Community Hospital. The hospital has evolved to meet the needs of the growing community, merging with Circle City Medical Center in 1992 to become Corona Regional Medical Center. The merged hospitals form a 238-bed community hospital network, including a 160-bed acute care hospital and a 78-bed rehabilitation campus. It is certified by The Joint Commission, employs over 1,250 healthcare workers, and has a medical staff of approximately 347 physicians across more than 40 specialties.
