Telemetry Technician - Full Time - Nights
About The Position
The Telemetry Technician works in a highly technical, fast-paced, and challenging environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to provide care for patients. The role involves continual observation and documentation of electrocardiographic patterns for monitored patients; correctly identifying and interpreting heart rhythms and rates; and notifying appropriate personnel of significant changes. The technician responds appropriately to emergencies by documenting rhythms during code situations and notifying physicians and staff. The position also performs skilled clerical and receptionist duties. The role is at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, a 294-bed, full-service acute-care hospital serving North Texas. The hospital is certified as an Advanced Primary Stroke and Heart Attack Center by The Joint Commission and offers services including Level III Trauma, NICU, and Maternal Care. It has more than 1,700 team members and 900 physicians.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Complete a basic dysrhythmia course with an acceptable score during orientation.
- Complete an annual recertification course in basic dysrhythmia with an acceptable score.
- At least 6 months of related work experience as a Telemetry (Monitor) Technician.
Responsibilities
- Continually observe and document electrocardiographic patterns of monitored patients.
