About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital Harrisburg is hiring a Telemetry Technician to support patients at a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients. The technician continuously monitors assigned patients, identifies rhythms and artifacts, maintains monitor alarms, and responds promptly and appropriately to alarms. EKG interpretations must be validated by an RN. This is a full-time night position with three 12-hour shifts per week, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., and rotating weekends and holidays. Compensation is $20.70–$25.25 per hour, based on years of experience, with night and weekend shift differentials. Requirements

Complete and pass the EKG class for Monitor Technicians and required competencies on the education platform within 30 days of starting in the position.
Pass other tests and competencies required by Select Medical.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Background as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), licensed paramedic, or RN nursing student with EKG training. LPNs are limited to working as telemetry technicians only.

Responsibilities

Continuously watch assigned monitors and ensure appropriate, timely responses to alarms.
Verify identification of basic rhythms, lethal rhythms, and artifacts.
Maintain EKG monitor alarms and respond to alarms as needed.
Complete EKG interpretations, including rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QTI, QTc, ST segment, waveform alterations, and rhythm interpretation.
Ensure strip interpretations are validated by an RN.
