About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital Harrisburg is hiring a Telemetry Technician for its critical illness recovery hospital, which provides inpatient post-ICU care to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The technician continuously monitors assigned patients, identifies rhythms and artifacts, maintains monitor alarms, and responds to alarms promptly and appropriately. The schedule is 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., three 12-hour shifts per week, with rotating weekends and holidays. Compensation is $20.70–$25.25 per hour, based on years of experience, with night and weekend shift differentials.

Requirements

Complete and pass the EKG class for Monitor Technicians and required competencies on the education platform within 30 days of the position start date.
Pass other tests and competencies required by Select Medical.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred background as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Licensed Paramedic, or RN nursing student with EKG training. LPNs are limited to working as telemetry technicians only.

Responsibilities

Continuously monitor assigned patients and ensure appropriate, timely responses to alarms.
Verify identification of basic rhythms, lethal rhythms, and artifact; maintain EKG monitor alarms and respond to alarms as needed.
Complete EKG interpretations, including rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QTI, QTc, ST segment, waveform alterations, and rhythm interpretation.
Ensure strip interpretations are validated by an RN.
