About The Position

SOVAH Health - Danville is seeking a Telemetry Technician for its Critical Care Unit/Stepdown. Under the supervision of an RN, the technician performs telemetry monitoring. The position is full-time, in-person, and scheduled for night shift in Danville, Virginia. The hourly pay range is $14.41 to $17.79.

SOVAH Health - Danville is a 250-bed hospital and part of Lifepoint Health. It is the region's only designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center, and serves as an academic teaching site. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Obtain Handled with Care (HWC) certification within six months of hire or transfer.

Nice To Haves

• EMT, LPN, or Telemetry certification preferred.
• Previous work experience as an EMT or Certified Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
• Identify significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervene appropriately.
• Identify and correct artifacts.
• Report abnormal assessment and telemetry findings, or changes in patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions, to nursing staff.
• Test equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.
• Report equipment problems to the supervisor.
