About The Position

The Telemetry Monitor Tech monitors, interprets, and reports telemetry data for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The role recognizes cardiac rhythms that may affect a patient’s physiology and promptly reports them to licensed staff. The Monitor Tech documents rhythm status routinely, when changes occur, and upon request during emergency interventions; reports changes in pulse oximetry data to appropriate licensed personnel; follows licensed staff direction for monitoring procedures; maintains monitoring-area supplies; and helps maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience.

Nice To Haves

• Monitor Tech certification from a recognized program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, interpret, and report telemetry data for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Recognize rhythms with the potential to alter a patient’s physiology and report them to licensed staff immediately.
• Document rhythm status routinely, for all changes, and upon request during emergent patient interventions.
• Report changes in pulse oximetry data to appropriate licensed personnel.
• Follow procedures for monitoring functions as directed by licensed staff.
• Maintain stock supplies for the monitoring area.
• Maintain a safe work environment.
