About The Position

The Teen Programs Team Lead helps create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where teens can learn, grow, build confidence, and develop meaningful connections. The role plans and leads activities that encourage personal growth, academic success, teamwork, and positive relationships. The Team Lead works closely with the Teen Program Director to implement programming and support participants, while guiding teens within program guidelines and helping them adjust and grow.

Requirements

High school education or GED.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Current Adult, Child & Infant CPR/AED and first aid certification, or willingness to become certified within 90 days of employment.
Two years of relevant experience working with youth.
Excellent communication skills and an understanding of teens.
Ability to encourage confidence, trust, and respect among members, staff, and the public.
Ability to exercise discretion and make independent judgments related to the program.
Ability to communicate effectively with caregivers.
Teamwork, role-model behavior, organizational skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, ability to meet deadlines, ability to work independently, critical thinking, and flexibility.

Responsibilities

Assist in planning and facilitating activities for teen members.
Guide and help youth adjust and grow within program guidelines.
Offer homework help and support academic success.
Participate in all areas of the Teen programs.
Plan and implement curriculum for members to follow.
Work closely with the Teen Program Director to implement programming and support participants.
Observe student behavior and assess its appropriateness.
Enforce relevant safety regulations and emergency procedures.
Apply appropriate behavior management techniques.
