About The Position

St. Joseph Catholic School seeks a positive, dependable, and service-oriented Technology Systems Administrator to oversee technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, instructional technology, and technology-enabled campus operations across our Elementary and Secondary campuses. The Technology Systems Administrator serves as the school's technology leader, ensuring that technology infrastructure, instructional systems, and campus operations support the mission of St. Joseph Catholic School while providing dependable, service-oriented support to faculty, staff, students, and families. The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise while demonstrating patience, professionalism, initiative, and a genuine desire to serve others. This position requires an individual who enjoys solving problems, building relationships, coordinating vendors, and helping faculty, staff, and students confidently utilize technology in support of teaching and learning. Ministerial Character Catholic schools in the Diocese of Austin are canonically obedient to the Bishop and assist him in fulfilling his ministry and canonical obligations. Pastors and school administrators serve as leaders of the schools to make Christ's mission present and enduring in the schools. In order to fulfill Christ's mission, the school leaders employ suitable, chosen collaborators, sharing with them Christ's mission and entrusting to them various responsibilities. Positions employed in this School help extend the ministry of the School leaders in particular ways as outlined in the job description. The employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the School leaders in the performance of their ministry and, therefore, engages in ministry for the Church.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Educational Technology, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant professional experience.
  • Experience supporting computer systems, networking, cybersecurity, or information technology operations.
  • Experience with Google Workspace for Education, Chromebook management, or educational technology preferred.
  • Experience working with technology vendors, networking equipment, security systems, printers/copiers, or campus technology infrastructure is desirable.
  • Knowledge of networking, wireless infrastructure, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and modern information systems.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace for Education and Chromebook administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to individuals with varying levels of technology experience.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, students, administrators, vendors, and contractors.
  • Demonstrated initiative, dependability, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning.
  • Commitment to supporting the mission, philosophy, and Catholic identity of St. Joseph Catholic School.
  • Must meet the minimum requirements for teaching field as set forth by the Diocese and TCCB ED.
  • Must submit an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) application within the first week of employment, participate in an EIM workshop within 60 days, and maintain EIM compliance during the entire term of employment.
  • Must meet staff development guidelines as set forth by the Diocese and school administration.
  • Must complete Religion Certification Part 1 within two years of the date of hire, completing a minimum of 25 hours each year.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the school's technology infrastructure, including wired and wireless networks, internet connectivity, network equipment, and related systems.
  • Oversee cybersecurity practices, including user security, network protection, data security, system backups, and disaster recovery.
  • Administer Google Workspace for Education and manage the school's Chromebook environment, including deployment, inventory, user accounts, permissions, and lifecycle management.
  • Provide professional technology support for faculty, staff, administrators, and students, including computers, classroom technology, educational software, audiovisual equipment, printers, and multifunction copiers.
  • Develop technology training, documentation, and onboarding support for employees while providing patient assistance to users with varying levels of technical proficiency.
  • Coordinate technology vendors responsible for security cameras, electronic door access systems, telephone systems, copiers, printers, digital signage, and other campus technology systems.
  • Support technology-enabled building systems, including digital thermostats, HVAC controls, and other connected operational technologies.
  • Maintain technology inventories, software licensing, warranties, service agreements, and equipment replacement schedules.
  • Assist with technology purchasing, budgeting, infrastructure improvements, and long-range technology planning.
  • Promote responsible, secure, and effective technology use throughout the school community.
  • Perform other technology-related duties as assigned by the Head of School.
