About The Position

Berkeley Preparatory School is looking for a Technology Support Specialist to join a collaborative and energetic IT team. This role works closely with students, faculty, and staff to ensure reliable access and efficient use of the school’s technology resources. This position is essential for both network operations and endpoint support. The successful candidate will foster a team-oriented environment by providing daily technical assistance, maintaining infrastructure, and implementing ongoing improvements to the school’s IT system.   • Experience with the JAMF mobile device management system
  • Understanding of network protocols, technologies, and standards
  • Experience supporting wireless networking
  • Experience supporting macOS, iOS, Windows, and Linux systems
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and education-focused applications
  • Ability to recognize when to escalate issues appropriately
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a professional and supportive relationship with students, parents, faculty, and staff, providing assistance as needed
  • Provide technical support and training for end-user devices used by students and staff
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and protect user privacy
  • Assist the Network Manager in maintaining and optimizing network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, servers, clocks, cameras, and wireless access points
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues for users and IT staff
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software
  • Monitor network performance and security, and address issues proactively
  • Assist in the management, configuration, and support of Apple devices, including MDM administration through JAMF
  • Collaborate with IT team members on network upgrades and improvements
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures
  • Assist with managing user accounts, permissions, and access across on-premises and cloud systems
  • Support disaster recovery planning and execution for network systems
  • Document issues and resolutions using the department’s ticketing system
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot peripherals such as printers, scanners, and audiovisual equipment
  • Support the technical setup and operation of academic events and performances
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in network administration
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • The appointment will begin June 15, 2026, and is a full-time position with full benefits.
