About The Position

Vet et Nous is a multidisciplinary team of high-level specialists and general veterinarians. Our mission is to take care of our clients' animals as if they were our own. Our teams are spread across three 24/7 emergency and referral centers and several general practice hospitals in the Montreal, Laval, Montérégie, Laurentides, Lanaudière, Mauricie, and Capitale-Nationale regions. Our facilities offer comprehensive services for owners of dogs, cats, birds, and exotic animals. In collaboration with the veterinarian, you play an important role with our clients by providing advice or reassurance about the condition of their four-legged companion. You work directly with our veterinarians, our assistant technicians, and our animal caretakers to ensure the well-being of the animals under our responsibility. Under the supervision of the responsible veterinarian, you ensure the smooth operation and workflow of the department to provide quality service and care to clients and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the veterinarian during client consultations (pre-consultation, TPR, restraint, help with record keeping, post-consultation)
  • Preparation for surgical procedures (surgical suites, anesthesia preparation, equipment, etc.)
  • Blood tests
  • Admissions and discharges for surgical procedures (patient discharge preparation, client meetings)
  • Procedures (dental cleanings, taking radiographs, etc.)
  • Administer treatments to hospitalized animals as prescribed by veterinarians
  • Provide excellent customer service, respond to client information requests, and perform necessary follow-ups (post-consultation/treatment or hospitalization follow-ups, sending reports, taking calls)
  • Schedule follow-up appointments
  • Provide nutrition advice to clients
  • Participate in meetings or training sessions, allowing you to acquire knowledge that can be useful for answering client questions, assisting colleagues, and keeping up with advances in the veterinary medical field
  • Work in close collaboration with the customer service representative, the assistant technician, and the animal caretaker
  • Perform all other related tasks
