About The Position

Reporting to the Department Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for the preparation, inspection, maintenance, and proper operation of the hoisting motors used in rigging operations. He or she plays a key role in ensuring the safety and compliance of equipment prior to its deployment at events. This is a permanent, full-time position, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in rigging, event production, and/or audiovisual production
  • Hands-on experience as a rigger, with a solid understanding of safe rigging practices
  • Knowledge of certified rigging equipment and compliance requirements
  • Basic knowledge of electricity
  • Attention to detail in inspections, certifications, and quality control
  • Ability to diagnose technical issues and perform basic repairs
  • Ability to lift and handle equipment (variable loads)
  • Good team spirit and collaboration
  • Proactive attitude toward technical or operational challenges

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with chain hoists, controllers, and electrical distribution systems (a significant asset)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare orders for motors and accessories based on work orders and project specifications
  • Inspect, test, and perform quality control on motors, controllers, and rigging equipment
  • Verify and validate the compliance of certifications for motors and accessories (inspection, maintenance)
  • Perform upgrades, preventive maintenance, and necessary adjustments on equipment
  • Verify electrical wiring associated with lifting systems and perform functional testing procedures
  • Scan and validate equipment to ensure the accuracy of inventories and packing lists
  • Perform basic repairs and diagnose common technical issues
  • Promptly report any anomalies, defects, or non-conformities to the supervisor
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Strictly adhere to applicable health and safety regulations and quality standards
  • Participate in the onboarding and training of new employees
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure the efficiency of workshop operations
