About The Position

The Technician is a heavy equipment mechanic that specializes in maintaining and repairing cranes. This position may perform routine maintenance, like lubricating parts, as well as fixing other problems when the crane malfunctions. The Technician position works in a safety-first type of environment. HCSG is a 24/7 service company that requires technicians to be available on-call and provide after-hour or even weekend services as required due to customer needs.

Requirements

• High School education
• Up to 25% travel
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a daily basis.
• Ability to lift up to 100lbs on a rare basis.
• 90% of frequent climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching, overhead reaching, bending, squatting and prolonged standing and sitting.
• Occasional pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crawling.
• Great hand and eye coordination.
• Heights exceeding over 50 feet from time to time are normal to incur on a daily basis to maintain a crane.
• Willing to work various shifts to accommodate needs of HCSG branches and customers.
• Willing to be on-call and work overtime.
• Willing to travel out of town at the discretion of the company.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to be on-call and provide after hour services as required.
• Troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and upgrading industrial hoists and cranes in the field at customer locations.
• Perform OSHA required hoist and crane inspections and generating inspection reports and repair orders.
• Communicate with the Service Manager and Branch Manager during the day so that work can be scheduled and completed on a daily basis.
• Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles in a safe and responsible manner. Notify immediate supervisor of any deficiencies.
• Maintain the ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Attend company provided trainings and seminars as required.
• Participate in HCSG 5 Marks program
• Other duties as assigned
