About The Position

The Technician works in the laser systems group, which manufactures complex laser processing systems. The role focuses on assembling precision opto-mechanical and optical sub-assemblies, inspecting and testing optics and optical assemblies, and supporting the Precision Assembly work center when capacity is insufficient. The Technician also helps maintain product documentation and ERP work order paperwork.

Requirements

• Technical school graduate or equivalent experience.
• Competent in using optical measurement tools, gauges, and meters.
• Craftsman-level skill with assembly hand tools and light power tools.
• Produce neat, accurate, and consistent work.
• Work independently and take responsibility for one's own work.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to retain communicated information.
• Have appropriate communication skills to convey information to associates and supervisors.
• Understand when to request guidance from superiors and follow the proper chain of command.

Responsibilities

• Assemble precision opto-mechanical and optical sub-assemblies.
• Inspect and serialize incoming and outgoing optics.
• Test optical assemblies to ensure compliance with defined standards.
• Supplement the Precision Assembly work center during periods of insufficient capacity.
• Assist in generating new product or sub-assembly documentation and work instructions.
• Provide engineering with feedback about errors or omissions in existing documentation.
• Dispose of obsolete documentation when a job is complete.
• Assist with completing ERP work order paperwork for proper job processing and costing.
