About The Position

The Technician supports the laser systems group, which manufactures complex laser processing systems. The role focuses on critical optics and optical assemblies, including precision opto-mechanical and optical sub-assembly work, inspection, and testing. The Technician also supports the Precision Assembly work center when capacity is insufficient and assists with documentation and ERP work order processing.

Requirements

• Graduate of a technical school or equivalent experience.
• Competent in using optical measurement tools, gauges, and meters.
• Craftsman skill level with assembly hand tools and light power tools.
• Neat, accurate, and consistent work.
• Ability to work well independently and take responsibility for own work.
• Attention to detail and ability to retain communicated information.
• Appropriate communication skills to convey information to other associates and supervisors.
• Understands when to request guidance from superiors and follows the proper chain of command.

Responsibilities

• Assemble precision opto-mechanical and optical sub-assemblies.
• Inspect and serialize incoming and outgoing optics.
• Test optical assemblies to ensure compliance with defined standards.
• Supplement the Precision Assembly work center during periods of insufficient capacity.
• Assist in generating new product or sub-assembly documentation and work instructions.
• Provide feedback to engineering regarding errors or omissions in existing documentation.
• Dispose of obsolete documentation when a job is complete.
• Assist in completing ERP work order paperwork for proper processing and job costing.
