About The Position

The Technician Laboratory tests and monitors finished beverage products and water treatment to ensure results meet company quality assurance specifications and regulatory requirements. The role also calibrates laboratory instruments and enters data to maintain records of results. The position is based in Roanoke, Virginia, and is on-site. The stated schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Knowledge acquired through up to 12 months of work experience.
Ability to follow work instructions and adhere to standard operating procedures.
Basic microbial knowledge and aseptic techniques.
Ability to work in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment with seasonal temperatures and flexible shifts.
Ability to stand for extended periods, walk the manufacturing floor, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Understanding of a laboratory environment and laboratory practices.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel experience.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Test finished beverage products and packaging to confirm quality meets company specifications and regulatory requirements.
Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.
Maintain testing and calibration records and enter results into the Lab Data Management System (LDMS).
Perform water-treatment quality tests in accordance with company specifications and regulatory requirements.
Create quality holds on finished beverage products for containment and investigation when tests do not meet specifications.
