About The Position

The Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services, is responsible for managing and executing exterior maintenance projects to ensure safe, functional, and sustainable facility environments. This role involves coordinating resources, overseeing third-party providers, and maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The position requires technical expertise in equipment operation, troubleshooting, and quality assurance, alongside effective communication with facility users and leadership. The Technician supports cost control measures, plans workforce needs, and implements improvements to enhance operational efficiency while upholding company standards of integrity and service excellence. Our team operates with strong cohesion and collaboration, ensuring efficient management of facility exterior services. Members work closely to maintain safety, quality, and compliance with company standards and regulations. The team supports continuous improvement by sharing knowledge and providing technical assistance. Together, they focus on delivering reliable service, maintaining equipment, and enhancing facility conditions to meet organizational goals effectively and sustainably.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to manage facility services operations, including budgeting, project planning, and workforce coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations with a commitment to maintaining safety and environmental compliance.
  • Experience operating and maintaining heavy machinery, powered equipment, and motor vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, quality assurance inspections, and resolving customer concerns professionally.
  • Ability to source, approve, and manage purchases of materials, tools, and equipment to support maintenance activities.
  • Demonstrated leadership in coaching third-party providers and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Commitment to upholding company policies, ethics, and integrity while driving continuous improvement.
  • 2 years' experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
  • Experience in third-party management.
  • Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California).

Responsibilities

  • Manage and prioritize exterior facility projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
  • Prepare and execute budgets, approve purchases, and verify receipt of materials and equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for sourcing and procurement activities.
  • Perform seasonal exterior maintenance, including snow and ice management, landscaping, and equipment upkeep.
  • Operate and inspect heavy machinery and vehicles, ensuring safety compliance and proper maintenance.
  • Lead third-party providers, conduct performance evaluations, and maintain compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Identify and implement facility improvements to enhance sustainability and reduce operating costs.
