About The Position

The Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services, is responsible for managing and executing exterior maintenance and repair projects to ensure safe, functional, and compliant facility environments. This role involves coordinating resources, overseeing third-party providers, and maintaining equipment and vehicles while adhering to safety and environmental regulations. The position requires effective communication with facility users, prioritizing work assignments, and implementing cost-effective improvements. The Technician supports company standards of ethics and integrity, promotes operational excellence, and contributes to sustaining facility conditions that meet Walmart’s quality and safety requirements. This team manages scheduled maintenance and resource coordination to ensure facilities operate safely, cleanly, and efficiently. They collaborate with internal and external partners to maintain compliance with safety and environmental standards while managing costs effectively. Focused on accountability and problem-solving, the team drives continuous improvement and operational excellence. Their efforts support a positive environment by delivering reliable service and upholding quality standards, ensuring HVAC and refrigeration systems perform optimally to meet business and customer needs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in facility maintenance and exterior services, including seasonal landscaping and snow removal operations.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Ability to manage budgets, approve purchases, and coordinate material requisitions effectively.
  • Skilled in operating and inspecting heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead third-party providers and conduct quality assurance inspections.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to assess and resolve customer and facility issues promptly.
  • Commitment to upholding company policies, ethics, and integrity in all work activities.
  • 2 years' experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
  • Experience in third-party management.
  • Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California).

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain exterior facility equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Manage and prioritize work assignments, including seasonal maintenance and snow and ice removal activities.
  • Prepare and execute budgets by developing cost estimates and approving purchases of parts, materials, and supplies.
  • Lead third-party providers through coaching and performance evaluations to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections and troubleshoot facility issues to maintain safe and efficient operations.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance and ensure proper documentation and operational readiness.
  • Implement facility upgrades to improve sustainability and reduce operating costs.
