About The Position

The AMH- Technician Apprentice works daily with training staff and senior technicians to learn equipment operation and assist with planned maintenance services and general repairs. The apprentice attends classes provided by the training staff and works with senior technicians in the shop or field to assist with and complete repairs. The role also includes assigned tasks involving shop or material handling equipment maintenance.

Requirements

• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Clear penmanship and ability to record accurate information.
• Self-motivated and organized.
• One year of relevant work experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and occasionally more than 75 pounds.
• Ability to perform continuous full-body movements including climbing, reaching, pushing, and lifting.
• Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct minor forklift repairs.
• Perform thorough forklift inspections to identify needed repairs.
• Record and report findings of potential or additional repairs on every preventive maintenance work order.
• Consult senior technicians about needed repairs or additional maintenance.
• Communicate daily activities to the senior technician and provide updates on progress toward training goals.
• Keep paperwork and documentation neat, clean, legible, and organized.
• Keep the shop area clean and safe.
• Attend training classes and assist senior technicians with planned maintenance services and general repairs in the shop or field.
