About The Position

The AMH- Technician Apprentice works daily with training staff and senior technicians to learn equipment operation and assist with planned maintenance services and general repairs. The apprentice attends classes provided by the training staff and works alongside senior technicians in the shop or field to assist with and complete repairs. The role also involves assigned tasks related to shop or material handling equipment maintenance.

Requirements

• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Clear penmanship and ability to record accurate information.
• Self-motivated and organized.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and occasionally more than 75 pounds.
• One year of relevant work experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Conduct minor forklift repairs.
• Perform thorough forklift inspections to identify needed repairs.
• Record and report findings of potential or additional repairs on every PM work order.
• Consult with a senior technician about needed repairs or additional maintenance items.
• Communicate daily activities to the senior technician and demonstrate progress toward goals.
• Keep paperwork and documentation neat, clean, legible, and organized.
• Keep the shop area clean and safe.
• Attend training classes and assist senior technicians with maintenance and repair work in the shop or field.
