Technician Apprentice
About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Porter / Yard Worker (described as a Yard Associate) to station and retrieve equipment on the location’s property. The role maintains a written maintenance schedule and may service equipment as necessary to ensure equipment meets set specifications. It also includes inspecting equipment before and after rental to document lost or damaged equipment. The position offers work in a challenging, fast-paced environment with opportunities to advance into mechanic, driver, or customer service roles, and is part of a safety-focused team. Sunbelt Rentals provides on-the-job training for eligible employees and a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- General mechanical aptitude.
- Safety focus.
- Bilingual ability (Spanish or another language) may be required based on location needs.
- Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors as required.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience with common construction and industrial tools.
- Some experience and/or training repairing mechanical equipment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
