About The Position

Aggreko is hiring a Technician 1 based at its Bridgeport, New Jersey service center. The role involves maintaining and repairing power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and/or oil-free air compressors. The technician will troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and occasionally at customer locations, and carry out repairs. Overtime and weekend work may be available, and travel may be required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 4 years of experience working on power generators, including inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
Experience calculating nominal and effective kW requirements.
Ability to read and understand schematics.
Valid driver's license.
Depending on customer requirements, ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card.
Ability to safely meet the physical demands of the role and pass a post-offer physical abilities assessment.
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods and walk over uneven terrain with functional balance, without special assistive devices.
Ability to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion from ground or floor level to overhead.
Good finger dexterity, functional hand-eye coordination, and sufficient grip strength to safely hold tools and stair railings or ladders.
Ability to lift 60 pounds, push or pull 80 pounds, carry 60 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, climb while carrying objects weighing 15 pounds, and stoop, kneel, and squat.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and/or oil-free air compressors.
Troubleshoot equipment failures at the service center and occasionally at customer locations.
Handle equipment repairs.
Travel to work locations when needed and be available for standby work outside regularly scheduled shifts.
