About The Position

Aggreko is hiring a Technician 1 based at its Bridgeport, New Jersey service center. The technician performs preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and/or oil-free air compressors. The role includes troubleshooting equipment failures and completing repairs at the service center and occasionally at customer locations. Travel may be required, and the schedule may include overtime, weekends, or standby work outside regularly scheduled shifts. The position involves physical work, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, and working across varied terrain. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 4 years of experience working on power generators, including inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
Experience calculating nominal and effective kW requirements and reading and understanding schematics.
Valid driver’s license.
Depending on customer requirements, ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card.
Ability to move or lift objects, typically weighing less than 75 pounds.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role and pass a post-offer physical abilities assessment, including lifting 60 pounds, pushing/pulling 80 pounds, carrying 60 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, climbing while carrying 15-pound objects, stooping, kneeling, and squatting.
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods; walk over uneven terrain with functional balance; and move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion from ground level to overhead.
Good finger dexterity, functional hand-eye coordination, and sufficient grip strength to safely hold tools and stair railings or ladders.

Responsibilities

Work the assigned schedule and travel to work locations when needed.
