About The Position

We are seeking a technical / specifications writer to support our Technical Design team. This role involves collaborating closely with architects and engineers to document building materials, assemblies, and systems, and to prepare comprehensive project specifications and manuals. The position also provides technical input throughout the design process and construction, supports project teams during construction administration, and involves product research and technical problem-solving.

Requirements

• 3+ years as a specifications or technical writer
• Familiarity with specification management software is beneficial

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with architects, and engineers to identify and document appropriate building materials, assemblies, and systems
• Prepare comprehensive project specifications and manuals using established master specification content
• Provide technical input and guidance throughout the design process and during construction
• Support project teams during construction administration with specification-related reviews and responses
• Conduct product research, analysis, and comparative evaluations
• Assist with technical problem-solving and detailing as needed
• Contribute to quality control efforts related to documentation and specifications
