About The Position

We are seeking a technical / specifications writer to support our Technical Design team. This role involves collaborating closely with architects and engineers to document building materials, prepare comprehensive project specifications and manuals, and provide technical input throughout the design and construction process. The position also supports project teams during construction administration with specification-related reviews and responses, conducts product research and analysis, assists with technical problem-solving, and contributes to quality control efforts related to documentation and specifications.

Requirements

• 3+ years as a specifications or technical writer

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
• Familiarity with specification management software is beneficial

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with architects, and engineers to identify and document appropriate building materials, assemblies, and systems
• Prepare comprehensive project specifications and manuals using established master specification content
• Provide technical input and guidance throughout the design process and during construction
• Support project teams during construction administration with specification-related reviews and responses
• Conduct product research, analysis, and comparative evaluations
• Assist with technical problem-solving and detailing as needed
• Contribute to quality control efforts related to documentation and specifications
