Technical Sourcing Manager

Jabil•Tampa, FL

About The Position

The Technical Sourcing Manager manages supplier selection and part validation for design, new product introduction (NPI), and risk/cost-reduction needs. The role uses situational analysis and Jabil’s supply chain and sourcing organizations, tools, templates, and processes to identify, validate, and deploy components into Jabil’s supply base. It requires adapting quickly to changing project requirements and acting with urgency. The role may support multiple projects and customers and may have indirect reports. The manager is accountable for BOM pricing throughout design and mass-production milestones, resolving cost differences and supply-chain impacts from BOM, design, and scope changes, and explaining unresolved issues. The role coordinates supplier design-for-manufacturability recommendations, manages supplier selection with commodity management, negotiates with suppliers, mitigates risk, guides buyers, maintains clean-to-build part status, and drives early supplier involvement. For assigned NPI projects, the manager develops supply-chain strategies for Jabil-owned components and guides component and supplier qualification, including DFM, FOT, PPAP, and APQP. The manager works with NPI buyers and selected suppliers to optimize and minimize on-hand inventory. For assigned risk/cost-reduction projects, the manager supports cost optimization, quality improvement, and supply assurance; leads the purchasing organization on short-term or high-risk quality issues, line-down constraints, and supplier negotiations; and develops value propositions with guidance from senior team members, SCDMs, SSMs, and the Business Unit. The role ensures supply-chain and sourcing deliverables follow Jabil’s templates, software solutions, and processes; performs cost estimating for custom parts; confirms selected components are qualified, validated, and ready for procurement before handoff to production; and leads identification and deployment of Jabil process improvements. The position also requires compliance with applicable safety, health, and company security procedures.
