About The Position

The Senior Technical Sourcing Engineer drives supplier selection and part validation for design, new product introduction (NPI), and risk/cost-reduction needs. The role analyzes situations and leverages Jabil’s Supply Chain and Sourcing organizations, tools, templates, and processes to identify, validate, and deploy components into Jabil’s supply base. It requires adaptability to changing project requirements and urgency in execution. The engineer owns BOM pricing through design and mass-production milestones, resolves cost differences and supply-chain impacts arising from BOM or scope changes, solicits and interprets supplier Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback, supports supplier selection, negotiations, and risk mitigation, and guides buyers while maintaining clean-to-build part status. For assigned NPI projects, the role develops supply-chain strategies for Jabil-owned components; guides supplier and component qualification, including DFM, FOT, PPAP, and APQP; and works with buyers and suppliers to optimize inventory. For assigned risk/cost-reduction projects, it leads initiatives in cost optimization, quality improvement, and supply assurance, and supports purchasing on urgent quality issues, line-down constraints, and supplier negotiations. The role drives supply-chain and sourcing deliverables using Jabil’s processes and software, estimates costs for custom parts, confirms components are qualified and ready for procurement before handoff to production, and identifies process improvements. The primary workstation is in an office area with a typically low noise level, with access to production-floor and office staff. Travel and/or temporary relocation of up to 75% may be required.
