About The Position

The Technical Solutions Scientist is a customer-facing scientific and technical expert who supports custom assay and product solutions, including custom multiplexes, prototype printing, custom conjugation services, and other customer-specific assay requirements. The role helps customers select and optimize solutions across MSD’s V-PLEX, U-PLEX, S-PLEX, and ProteinXI-related technologies, including guiding transitions from ProteinXI-focused panels to U-PLEX solutions where appropriate. It coordinates with internal teams to ensure custom projects meet customer commitments. The position provides technical consultation on customer objectives, target analytes, samples, multiplexing needs, and performance expectations; evaluates whether existing products or custom development are appropriate; and explains options, limitations, risks, and trade-offs. It owns technical coordination of custom requests from inquiry through internal hand-off and completion, partnering across Sales, Customer Service, Assay Development, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and other teams. The role also supports sales opportunities, manages customer cases and documentation, captures customer feedback, and contributes to improvements in products, processes, tools, and customer support. The position is typically performed in a traditional home or office environment. It requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, use equipment necessary to perform the job, and move about the office. The annual base salary range is $88,100 to $134,400. Employees may also qualify for a discretionary or non-discretionary bonus.
