Technical Recruiter

Additive AISan Francisco, CA
$125,000 - $150,000Onsite

About The Position

Additive, an AI tax startup acquired by Thomson Reuters, is seeking a Technical Recruiter to join their growing hiring team. While operating with the agility of a startup, Additive now benefits from the resources of a large corporation. The role involves building out the engineering team and shaping the future of Additive. This is a hands-on position where the recruiter will own searches from initial outreach to offer closure, collaborate closely with hiring managers, and help define the company's scaling hiring strategy. The primary focus will be on engineering roles, but recruitment across the company may be required. Key priorities include quality, speed, and an exceptional candidate experience, with an emphasis on finding exceptional talent, building rapid trust, and driving searches forward with minimal oversight.

Requirements

  • 2 to 4+ years of recruiting experience, with a proven ability to independently manage searches from sourcing to close.
  • Experience recruiting technical talent, specifically software engineers.
  • Strong sourcing skills, with a proactive approach beyond relying on inbound applicants.
  • Excellent judgment and communication abilities with both candidates and hiring managers.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and developing processes in a growing environment.
  • High degree of ownership and a proactive approach to problem-solving when searches are not progressing.
  • Ability to work fully in person, five days per week, in downtown San Francisco.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience recruiting for an early-stage or high-growth startup.
  • Experience closing highly sought-after engineering candidates in competitive markets.
  • Familiarity with ATS and recruiting tools such as Ashby, Greenhouse, or Lever.
  • Experience building recruiting processes, interview loops, scorecards, or hiring playbooks from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • Own searches from start to finish: source, screen, coordinate interviews, manage candidates, run offers, and close.
  • Build engineering pipelines from scratch, including outbound sourcing, finding hard-to-reach candidates, writing compelling outreach, and creating momentum in the absence of existing pipelines.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define requirements, calibrate candidate profiles, surface tradeoffs, and maintain search momentum.
  • Close great candidates by understanding motivations, building conviction, navigating competing offers, and securing desired hires.
  • Ensure an excellent candidate experience by clearly communicating the company's mission, product, and opportunity.
  • Contribute to building the recruiting function by improving processes, tooling, interview practices, scorecards, and operating rhythms.
  • Track search progress, identify potential issues early, and communicate clearly about status, risks, and necessary adjustments.
  • Effectively communicate the Additive story, highlighting the unique combination of a small, ambitious team within Thomson Reuters.

  • Full health, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with match
