Technical Recruiter

Infinitive Inc•Ashburn, VA
•$60,000 - $85,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Infinitive is hiring a Technical Recruiter to find and hire data and AI talent for client work. The recruiter will manage multiple searches at once for roles including Data Engineers, Data Architects, and AI Engineers, often requiring hands-on Databricks experience, as well as consultants with functional and foundational experience in program management, change management, AI adoption, and training. Priorities may change as client demand shifts, so the recruiter must adjust plans quickly, keep searches moving, and keep hiring managers informed. The role includes full-cycle recruiting, from intake and sourcing through candidate screening, scheduling, feedback, offer discussions, and closing. The recruiter will assess technical fit across Databricks, cloud platforms, programming and data skills, and AI/ML tools; maintain accurate applicant-tracking records; and build a bench of data and AI candidates for anticipated openings. This is a hybrid role requiring on-site work Monday through Thursday at Infinitive’s Ashburn, Virginia office. The estimated U.S. compensation range is $60,000–$85,000. Infinitive is an equal opportunity employer.

Requirements

  • Experience sourcing and hiring Data Engineers, Data Architects, and AI Engineers, including candidates with Databricks experience.
  • Technical knowledge sufficient to have credible initial conversations about Spark, lakehouse architecture, cloud data platforms, and machine learning, and to distinguish strong Databricks profiles from keyword matches.
  • Experience managing multiple searches at once without letting them stall.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with candidates, hiring managers, and executives.
  • Strong organizational habits, including accurate ATS records, tracked follow-ups, and clear search notes.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to ask clarifying questions rather than guess.
  • Ability to move quickly and stay organized when priorities change.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a technology staffing firm or IT services consultancy recruiting against client deadlines and changing requirements.
  • An existing network of Databricks, data engineering, or AI practitioners.
  • Familiarity with Databricks certifications, including Data Engineer Associate and Professional and Machine Learning Associate, and what they indicate about candidates.
  • Experience recruiting candidates with security clearances for public sector work.
  • Experience with Boolean and X-ray search techniques and recruiting automation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Run full-cycle recruiting for several open searches simultaneously, each with its own candidate profile.
  • Conduct intake meetings with hiring managers and practice leads to clarify required skills, seniority, certifications, clearance needs, client context, and compensation range.
  • Source passive and active candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, Databricks community channels, job boards, referrals, and personal networks.
  • Screen candidates for technical fit across Databricks technologies, cloud platforms, Python and SQL, data modeling, and AI/ML tooling.
  • Re-rank searches as priorities change and communicate changes and timeline implications to hiring managers.
  • Manage the candidate experience from first contact through offer, including scheduling, feedback, offer conversations, and closing.
  • Keep the applicant tracking system current with the status of every search and candidate.
  • Build and maintain a bench of data and AI candidates for anticipated roles.
  • Identify stalled searches, slow interview processes, and candidates at risk of accepting another offer, and raise these issues proactively.
  • Communicate clearly and regularly with candidates and hiring managers about progress and next steps.
