About The Position

Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. At Joby, we've been working to make that dream a reality since 2009 and we're now in the final stages of certifying our aircraft with the FAA. With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service. Overview Joby Aviation is seeking an experienced motivated and detail-oriented Technical Recruiter to join our team and play a key role in scaling our workforce during a pivotal stage of innovation and growth. This temporary role will be responsible for the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring qualified candidates for technical positions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced setting, collaborating closely with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, attract top talent, and ensure a smooth, data-driven recruitment process. This role requires experience and an understanding of technical positions, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for finding top talent.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar field OR a high school diploma/GED and 10 years of relevant work experience or some combination thereof
• 5+ years of technical recruiting experience
• Proven ability to understand and communicate complex technical job requirements
• Experience with applicant tracking systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized and adaptable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Strong sense of urgency and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Ability to be in person in Santa Cruz, Marina or San Carlos, CA 3 days per week

Nice To Haves

• Experience with iCIMS ATS system
• Background in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, high-tech or start-up industries

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with department heads and hiring managers to assess workforce needs, forecast hiring demands and build targeted talent pipelines
• Build and maintain a scalable recruiting strategy.
• Manage full-cycle recruiting efforts and offer negotiations
• Create and post compelling, accurate technical job descriptions aligned with team needs
• Source and screen candidates for a wide variety of roles across software, engineering, operations, aviation and manufacturing functions
• Conduct structured interviews and coordinate technical assessments
• Follow up with passive candidates and nurture long-term pipelines for hard-to-fill roles
• Provide regular updates on recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill, pipeline health, and hiring trends
• Represent Joby at industry events, tech conferences, and career meetups
