Technical Program Manager

Decagon•New York, NY
•$160,000 - $200,000•Onsite

About The Position

Decagon’s APM team turns enterprise commitments into durable customer outcomes. The team owns deployment execution, steady-state operations, and the operating system that enables delivery quality and velocity to scale as the customer base and deal complexity grow. The Technical Program Manager function drives end-to-end delivery of complex customer implementations—including design partnerships, strategic deals, and enterprise go-lives—as well as internal cross-functional programs that support enterprise readiness. The Technical Program Manager owns delivery of Decagon’s most complex customer deployments and drives internal cross-functional programs. The role works across APM, Engineering, Product, Research, Security, Legal, and Go-to-Market to translate requirements into executable programs, manage dependencies across parallel workstreams, and surface issues before they become blockers. The role also continuously improves operational and internal functional excellence to help Decagon scale. This is a fully in-office position based in Decagon’s New York office.

Requirements

  • 4–6+ years of experience as a technical program manager or in product/engineering operations, with direct ownership of complex enterprise deployments or large-scale internal cross-functional initiatives.
  • A track record running high-stakes customer implementations or feature builds for design partners or strategic deals, where scope is ambiguous, requirements evolve during development, and customer success is directly tied to program outcomes.
  • Ability to drive programs without authority using an outcome-oriented, collaborative approach that unites teams around shared milestones and holds work accountable end-to-end.
  • A structured, rigorous approach to ambiguity, including defining program scope, sequencing dependencies, surfacing blockers early, and moving multiple concurrent workstreams forward.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to engage credibly with engineering teams, ask relevant questions, pressure-test tradeoffs, and translate between technical and business contexts without deep implementation work.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt depth, format, and framing for customers, engineering leads, executive sponsors, and external partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with LLMs or conversational AI, through professional or personal projects.
  • A track record of moving programs through legal, security, engineering, and customer approval gates while anticipating friction points and keeping timelines intact.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with a forward-deployed working team to manage complex customer implementations end-to-end, aligning on scope, sequencing dependencies, managing risk, and ensuring smooth handoffs and milestones.
  • Support design partnerships and strategic accounts where requirements are still taking shape.
  • Translate customer requirements and feedback into structured program plans, working with Go-to-Market and Product to prioritize high-impact requests, map them to delivery roadmaps, and track execution against committed timelines.
  • Drive internal cross-functional programs, including model lifecycle management, security and compliance buildouts, and external certifications, from kickoff through completion.
  • Align stakeholders and hold workstreams accountable without direct authority over executing teams.
  • Continuously improve operational and internal functional excellence to support scaling.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits for employees and their families.
  • Life insurance and disability benefits.
  • Retirement plan, such as a 401(k) or pension.
  • Parental leave.
  • Fertility and family-building benefits through Carrot.
