About The Position

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will use technical expertise to lead complex, multidisciplinary projects from start to finish. You will plan requirements, identify risks, manage schedules, and communicate with cross-functional partners, explaining analyses and recommendations to executives and discussing technical tradeoffs with engineers. On the Capacity and Constraints Management (CAPCOM) Design team, you will manage the full lifecycle of regional physical server hall layout and infrastructure integration programs across Google's data centers. You will work with Data Center Facility Engineering, Construction, Network Architecture, CAD/BIM Spatial Modeling, Supply Chain, and AI/ML New Product Introduction teams. The role translates high-density compute, liquid cooling, power distribution, structural, and optical network fabric requirements into production-ready server hall rack layouts, manages design changes, and applies AI-enabled automation to accelerate regional capacity delivery. The Data Center team designs and operates sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in data center architecture.
  • Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) Capacity and Constraints Management.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Proficiency in project planning, dependency and risk management, change management impact analysis, and clear, audience-tailored program communications across facility engineering, construction management, network deployment, and supply chain stakeholders.
  • Judgment to adjust project levers under changing circumstances, track performance and quality metrics to identify process bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement across multiple concurrent regional site builds.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of regional server hall layout design and execution programs across data center builds, authoring project plans, phasing milestones, and schedules.
  • Drive multi-phase spatial, chip-agnostic, and chip-specific server hall layout execution for third-party colocation (3PDC) and modular facilities; evaluate architectural and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) drawings, including column grids, clear heights, rolling hot/cold aisle containment, and long-lead power and cooling equipment gates.
  • Lead cross-functional technical reviews and triage engineering issues across overhead busway and tap-off power distribution, in-row AC/DC power conversion sidecars, liquid-to-liquid Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs) and secondary fluid manifolds, and high-radix optical fiber conveyance.
  • Execute change management rollout plans and technical impact analyses for in-flight AI/ML design modifications.
  • Maintain project trackers, risk registers, and audience-tailored program communications across concurrent regional site builds.
