About The Position

Notion is seeking a Technical Program Manager to partner with Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) leadership. The role works closely with senior engineering, product, and design leaders to run programs and operating rhythms that help EPD stay focused, aligned, and delivering. The program portfolio includes internal engineering initiatives and externally facing, cross-functional work with teams such as Go-to-Market, Marketing, and Support. The TPM is accountable for program delivery, including prioritization, success criteria, communications, and coordination with partners. The role also helps design and run EPD planning and review processes, connects teams across the company, prepares executive-ready materials, monitors risks, and leads high-priority special projects. The position is based in San Francisco or New York City, with in-office work on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (Anchor Days).

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of technical program management experience at a technology company, or equivalent experience in a technical or operational capacity, with clear and impactful results.
  • Proven ability to run multiple complex, cross-functional programs simultaneously from inception to delivery.
  • Ability to turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into action plans and drive them to impact.
  • Strong technical fluency, including the ability to discuss systems and tradeoffs with engineers and translate them for non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience creating executive-ready updates, narratives, and decision documents.
  • Strategic thinking and sound judgment, including the ability to see the big picture, prioritize, and determine when to escalate.
  • Experience designing and running organizational operating rhythms such as planning, OKRs, leadership meetings, and reviews.
  • Builder mentality and an automation-first approach, including a preference for scripting, automation, or lightweight tools over repeatedly running manual processes.

Responsibilities

  • Drive multiple concurrent programs with senior EPD leaders, including internal engineering initiatives involving platform, infrastructure, quality, and developer productivity, as well as cross-functional programs such as major launches and customer-facing commitments.
  • Own overall program delivery, including prioritization, success criteria, and communications in coordination with partners.
  • Help design and run EPD operating rhythms, including planning cycles, goal-setting, roadmap reviews, leadership syncs, and business reviews.
  • Connect EPD with the broader company, bring the right people together, drive decisions to closure, and ensure follow-through.
  • Prepare clear, concise leadership materials, including status updates, decision documents, and executive summaries.
  • Monitor program status, proactively identify and communicate issues and risks, and unblock work where possible.
  • Lead high-priority, ambiguous special projects for EPD leadership from problem definition through outcome.
  • Build partnerships with technical and business leaders across the company and help ensure resource investments align with company priorities.
