About The Position

CarGurus is looking for a curious, collaborative, and motivated Technical Product Management (TPM) Intern to join our technology organization for Summer 2027. In this role, you will work closely with a Senior TPM and gain hands-on experience supporting how complex, cross-functional technology programs are planned, coordinated, and delivered. You will partner with stakeholders across product, engineering, go-to-market, revenue, data, and product analytics teams—building foundational skills in stakeholder management, requirements definition, and technical collaboration that translate across any area of technology. As a TPM Intern, you will join an 11-week Summer Internship Program designed to give you hands-on experience, expand your professional network, and build core industry skills. This full-time opportunity (40 hours per week) runs from June through August 2027. CarGurus operates on a hybrid working model, and candidates should expect to work out of our Boston, MA office 60% of the time (approximately three days per week).

Requirements

  • A strong sense of curiosity and eagerness to understand how complex systems and organizations work.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities.
  • Clear and effective communication skills—written and verbal—with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach to work with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Genuine interest in technology, product development, or program/project management.
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Social Sciences, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship, project, or leadership experience is a plus but not required—engagement in student organizations, clubs, or fellowship/scholarship programs is equally valued.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including engineering, data, product, marketing, sales, and account management—to support program planning and delivery.
  • Assist in gathering and synthesizing inputs from stakeholders groups to inform priorities and decisions.
  • Participate in defining requirements and writing clear, well-scoped user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Support tracking of program and product performance metrics, surfacing trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to go-to-market and launch activities by helping prepare documentation, communications, and cross-team coordination.
  • Present findings, updates, and recommendations to stakeholders in meetings and program reviews.
  • Conduct research and analysis—including competitive landscape reviews—to help inform product and program strategy.
