About The Position

The Technical Lead facilitates application solutions by developing and reviewing module-level code, creating replication patterns, performing root cause analysis to identify recurring issues, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver stable, well-documented solutions that meet business objectives. This role focuses on quality assurance and testing for a Python/FastAPI backend, PostgreSQL database, and associated Azure services, including applications with LLM-integrated features.

The role involves designing and executing test plans, building automated functional test suites, validating database behavior and cloud integrations, and working with developers to establish acceptance criteria and identify edge cases. It also includes reporting defects, supporting root cause analysis, and improving test coverage and pipeline quality gates. Preferred responsibilities include testing a React/TypeScript frontend, including its functionality, usability, and accessibility.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in software QA or testing roles.
• Strong experience with Python test frameworks such as pytest and unittest.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman and requests, and test automation frameworks such as pytest with httpx or requests, Karate, or Playwright.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL, and ability to write and validate SQL queries.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines; GitLab CI is preferred.
• Familiarity with containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes/AKS.
• Experience with REST API testing and OAuth2/MSAL authentication flows.
• Understanding of asynchronous Python patterns and background job testing.
• Strong analytical and communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote/offshore setting.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in financial services or regulated environments.
• Familiarity with AI/ML testing, including LLM outputs and embedding pipelines.
• Experience testing React/TypeScript applications using Vitest, Testing Library, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive test plans for a Python/FastAPI backend and PostgreSQL database.
• Build and maintain automated functional test suites covering REST endpoints, Azure AD/MSAL authentication flows, and asynchronous processing pipelines.
• Test LLM-integrated features, including RAG retrieval, selling point generation, and recommendation rule engines.
• Manually validate PostgreSQL database behavior for document processing, selling point generation, evaluation, governance, and related workflows.
• Test Azure cloud integrations, including Blob Storage, PostgreSQL Flexible Server, and Azure OpenAI.
• Collaborate with developers to define acceptance criteria and identify edge cases early in the development cycle.
• Report defects with clear reproduction steps and assist with root cause analysis using available logs, including file-based and Datadog logs.
• Contribute to improving test coverage metrics and quality gates in the pipeline.
• Preferred: Design and execute comprehensive test plans for a React/TypeScript frontend.
• Preferred: Build and maintain automated functional test suites covering frontend applications.
• Preferred: Manually validate frontend functionality, usability, accessibility, and other UI aspects.
