Tech-Creative Repair Specialist
About The Position
Surface Experts is hiring a hands-on technician to perform creative, on-site repairs to hard surfaces such as bathtubs, cabinets, floors, appliances, countertops, furniture, and elevator panels. Technicians typically complete four or more repairs per day, often in an hour or less, using a small amount of product and a personalized toolkit. Each repair requires an individual solution, including matching colors and patterns across different designs, sheens, and materials. Work takes place at locations such as apartments, hotels, moving sites, and construction sites, with a focus on customer service and communication. The company provides paid new-hire training, tools and products, a branded company vehicle for job duties, ongoing repair training, mentorship, and technician support. Surface Experts describes its work as an alternative to replacement or complete refinishing, with a goal of reducing wasted time, money, and materials that might otherwise end up in landfills.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience performing manual work, such as construction, manufacturing, painting, or sculpting.
- Ability to see, distinguish, and replicate colors; familiarity with color and color matching is integral to the repair process.

- Background in facilities maintenance.
- Experience in visual arts such as painting, sculpting, whittling, or drawing.
Responsibilities
- Complete four or more creative repairs on-site each day.
- Perform work at customer locations while providing good customer service and communication.
- Problem-solve across varied settings, including apartments, hotels, moving sites, and construction sites.
- Treat tenants and staff with exceptional customer service.
- Update repair progress by entering information and notes in the CRM/Dispatch tool.
- Work with the designated Support Team to resolve issues.
- Learn and integrate the company's five-step repair process into repair work.
- Master and use the instruments and tools in the personalized toolkit.
- Develop a unique solution for each repair, including matching colors and patterns.
