About The Position

We are seeking a Teamlead Software Development to lead a cross-functional team of 4-6 software developers. In this role, you will be responsible for the disciplinary and technical development of your team members, contributing to the evolution of core software components. You will act as a coach, motivator, and sparring partner, while also remaining hands-on with development tasks, including code reviews, to ensure high quality. Your responsibilities will extend to supporting team culture, organizing team events, and participating in the hiring process to align team needs with the engineering manager.

Requirements

• Profound engineering experience.
• University degree in computer science, engineering or similar.
• 5+ years of hands-on development experience in Python.
• Experience in managing/leading a team including hiring, 1:1s, giving feedback, building teams, delivering quality code on time.
• Desire to develop code but also have a bigger impact by shaping your team.
• Positive energy and a motivating spirit.
• Thrive in international environments and be fluent in English.
• Product-oriented mindset, wanting to build a great product for users.
• Strong writing skills and ability to organize work in an asynchronous fashion for remote culture.

Nice To Haves

• C++/Rust is a plus.
• Fluency in German is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional team of 4-6 software developers.
• Ensure the further development of team members, both disciplinary and technical.
• Contribute to the further development of several core parts of our software.
• Act as a coach, motivator, or sparring partner depending on the situation.
• Remain hands-on and actively develop, contributing to high quality through code reviews.
• Coach team members, run 1:1s and feedback discussions.
• Support the personal and career development of individual developers.
• Support team culture and bonding via team events and other measures.
• Hire new team members and align the needs of your team with the engineering manager.
• Be accountable for the results of your team.
