Rocket MoneyWashington, DC
$150,000 - $200,000Hybrid

About The Position

Team Boost sits at the intersection of user-facing performance and developer productivity. We make Rocket Money fast and reliable for the millions of people who use it, and we make the codebase a joy to work with. We own the tooling, infrastructure, and best practices that help every engineer at Rocket Money ship faster and with more confidence. We believe that the best outcomes happen when we make it easy for engineers to build performant software by default. This role involves setting the vision, shaping the strategy, and growing Boost’s role as a force multiplier for every engineer at Rocket Money.

  • Experience leading large-scale codebase migrations where a full rewrite is not an option.
  • Ability to break massive changes into safe, incremental steps.
  • Ability to make decisions, clear blockers, and keep projects moving toward a quality conclusion.
  • Ability to tailor management to the individual, matching projects to strengths and building growth plans.
  • Treat developer feedback loops as a product, measuring, instrumenting, and systematically shrinking them.

  • Own the roadmap by sourcing work from internal feedback, building partnerships, and making clear decisions about team capacity.
  • Drive projects to a conclusion by making decisions, clearing blockers, and holding the bar for delivery.
  • Support and grow the team through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and individualized growth plans.
  • Champion DX and UX by making the right thing the easiest thing, sponsoring RFCs, migrations, and architectural changes.
  • Establish performance and quality as measurable practices by defining 'good' and leading instrumentation, automation, and quality gates.
