About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland & East Central Ohio is hiring a full-time, hourly Team Lead/Shift Manager in Mentor, Ohio, at $16.30. The role supports the store manager and assistant manager with daily operations and runs the store during scheduled shifts when neither manager is present. The team lead oversees donated-goods collection, processing, and pricing; maintains an attractive sales floor; and helps provide a supportive, inclusive, and equitable environment while furthering Goodwill’s community mission. A background check is required.

Requirements

Strong judgment, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Strong organization and time management skills.
Knowledge of merchandise such as name brands, antiques, vintage items, and collectibles.
First aid and CPR certification required; certification may be obtained after hire.
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
Background check required.

Nice To Haves

Six or more months of retail sales experience, or demonstrated potential for management.
Computer experience.
High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily store operations, including donation processing and pricing, and maintain an attractive sales floor through merchandising.
Run store operations during scheduled shifts when the store manager or assistant manager is absent.
Process transactions accurately; manage cash operations, including daily counts and over/short reconciliation; and handle customer disputes and exchanges.
Help manage the backroom warehouse, including loading and unloading donations with material handling equipment.
Coach and train team members, handle day-to-day employee relations, and partner with HR when needed.
Lead the team in meeting hourly and daily production goals.
Model and enforce safe working conditions and keep the building and property clean and organized.
Support the “You Changed a Life” campaign.
Plan the day, complete end-of-day tasks, and keep the facility secure.
