About The Position

Discovery Ranch South is a relationship-based residential treatment center near Three Peaks Recreational Park overlooking Cedar City, Utah. It uses experiential therapy to help teenage students progress on their healing journeys. Mentors build rapport through shared activities such as horseback riding, skiing, hiking, and rock climbing; these relationships are an important part of the students’ healing process and can support deep, lasting change.

The position is part-time, with a flex schedule whose primary days are Saturday through Tuesday, or on-call grave shifts. The role involves working with students in a therapeutic setting and completing responsibilities in various weather conditions and physically active settings.

Requirements

• Be at least 19 years of age.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background check.
• Pass a motor vehicle record check.
• Have a current Utah driver's license within 30 days of employment.
• Work well within a team.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving aptitude and good judgment.
• Be safety-oriented and maintain firm, healthy boundaries.
• Be able to complete responsibilities in varying weather conditions, including snow, ice, and heat.
• Be able to meet the physical demands of walking, running, lifting, hiking, and animal-related activities.

Responsibilities

• Build nurturing relationships and rapport with teenage students through shared experiences.
• Support students as they progress through their healing journey in a therapeutic residential setting.
• Complete responsibilities safely in varying weather conditions, including snow, ice, and heat.
• Participate in physical activities including walking, running, lifting, hiking, and animal-related activities.
• Work effectively as part of a team.
