About The Position

Discovery Ranch South is a relationship-based residential treatment center near Three Peaks Recreational Park in Cedar City, Utah. The center uses experiential therapy to support teenage students in their healing journey. Youth Mentors build rapport through shared activities and nurturing relationships, which can help students discover hope, passion, and perseverance and create lasting change.

Experiential activities include horseback riding, skiing, hiking, and rock climbing. This is a part-time role with a stated pay rate of $17.00 per hour. Available schedules include a flex schedule whose primary days are Saturday through Tuesday, and on-call grave shifts.

Requirements

• At least 19 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to pass a background check.
• Able to pass a motor vehicle record check.
• Current Utah driver's license within 30 days of employment.
• Works well within a team.
• Strong problem-solving aptitude.
• Good judgment.
• Safety-oriented.
• Maintains firm, healthy boundaries.
• Able to complete responsibilities under varied weather conditions such as snow, ice, and heat.
• Able to meet physical demands including walking, running, lifting, hiking, and animal-related activities.

Responsibilities

• Support teenage students in a therapeutic residential setting as they progress on their healing journey.
• Build rapport with students through shared experiential therapy activities.
• Develop nurturing relationships that support students’ healing and personal growth.
• Complete job responsibilities under varying weather conditions, including snow, ice, and heat.
• Participate in activities involving walking, running, lifting, hiking, and animals.
