About The Position

Provide direction and guidance to the production line to maintain a continuous quality production of insulated metal panels.

Requirements

  • Possess a safe work history.
  • Have a positive attitude and proactive approach to our safety program.
  • Machine operator with 6+ years of experience monitoring and operating machines in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficient at determining faults and conducting repairs.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Can operate forklifts.
  • Knowledge of production procedures.
  • Safety procedure knowledge.
  • Analytical.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Moderate computer skills (email and other applications utilized daily)
  • Ability to build professional, internal relationship.
  • Ability to work up to 12 hours per day.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, crouch, lean, reach, twist, and other physical movements for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in conditions typical of a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to wear prescribed personal protective equipment and appropriate clothing.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read, write, type, and verbally communicate fluently in English.
  • Must be able to effectively use a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and commonly used software to complete necessary functions assigned.
  • Must have finger dexterity, visual acuity, discernment of sounds, color, and texture.
  • Must be able to use tools, equipment, machinery, etc.
  • Must be reliable and dependable.
  • Must have the physical and mental ability to drive a standard forklift successfully. AWIP will certify.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Fully trained on all stations
  • Fulfill all requirements of the job descriptions for all stations
  • Operate any station as needed
  • Ensure Quality and Product Compliance Requirements are met.
  • Coordinate employee activities including workstation assignments/rotations, breaks/lunches, overtime assignment, employee vacation schedule, and cross-training.
  • Work with Production Supervisor/Plant Manager to establish production schedules and meet production goals
  • Verify scheduled production run against the BOM
  • Monitor raw materials (Coil, Chemical, Packaging)
  • Initiate reorders of supplies
  • Verify all stations are correctly filling out QC Logs
  • Collaborate with QC to ensure production quality
  • Collaborate with Maintenance to maintain and improve plant performance
  • Prepare production reports
  • Ensure changeovers are completed efficiently
  • Informs management of any significant problems, issues or concerns
  • Conduct shift meetings
  • Coach, mentor and guide employees to continuously improve
  • Document employee training and performance
  • Understand and support company policies and procedures
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are supported and followed
  • Ensure all employees are aware of and follow safety rules
  • Ensure work area is clean and safe
  • Provide safety walk to new hires
  • Perform initial accident investigations.
  • Continually monitor product throughout the production run
  • Notify QC and Production Supervisor/Plant Manager of any product issues in a timely manner
  • Continually monitor production equipment
  • Notify Maintenance and Production Supervisor/Plant Manager of any equipment issues in a timely manner
